PULL OUT TEST Numerical Simulation of the Concrete Reinforcement Pull-Out Test Finite element modeling of the concrete reinforcement pull-out test is conducted by commercial FEM package, ANSYS. Using the symmetric condition of the test, the real model can be transferred to the FEM model by applying axisymmetric element. PLANE82 element in ANSYS package is chosen due to its special capabilities on calculating the axisymmetric condition. Input File: PullOutTest_Case_Axi.inp All axisymmetric modeling and the meshing is set up in the input file above. Then, the contact condition is assigned by applying the contact manager. Important to remember, contact can be assigned after doing mesh. 1. Reading the input file. Open ANSYS File Select the input file destination folder, and select the type of file to ANSYS Commands (*.*) Select the input file, click the Open button. After reading the input file, in ANSYS workspace will look like as follow Contact wizard dialog appears, select radio button on Target Surfaces to Lines and on Target Type to Flexible.
